Under Celia’s leadership, Notre Dame has achieved outstanding quality ratings, financial growth and recognition by its 11,000 students as the best university in Australia for overall quality of the educational experience.
In 1998, Celia became one of the founding staff members at the University’s Fremantle Law School. Her expertise in law and interest in education became a passion for helping young people reach their potential.
Celia believes all people should have the opportunity to be empowered as individuals, encouraged to take personal responsibility and be active contributors to their communities.
Celia believes in individual freedom, enterprise, reward for effort and the family unit – as proven means to secure high living standards and strong communities.
She is a person of conviction, but will always engage with people with different views with an open mind, in order to find common ground and a pathway forward.
Celia was born in Northam, moving to City Beach at the age of 10. For the last 15 years, she has lived in Wembley and Mount Claremont with her husband Simon and three sons.
She knows Curtin is a wonderful place to grow up, raise a family and enjoy retirement. Celia will work with the whole community to help make it even better in the future.
