Biography

Hi, I’m Mahesh Arumugam, your local Liberal for Thornlie.

Born and raised in Southern India, where I served in the National Cadet Corps, I learned the values of family, community, and hard work from an early age. For the past 15 years, my wife and I have proudly called Thornlie home, raising our two daughters in this vibrant and welcoming community.

Qualified as a mechanical engineer, I’ve held roles within the oil and gas industry, both overseas and here in Western Australia. This experience has given me a deep understanding of what it takes to drive economic growth and prosperity in our state.

Beyond my professional career, I am deeply committed to giving back to the community. Volunteering is a significant part of my life, and I’m actively involved with a number of community and multicultural groups. I’m passionate about this work because it makes our community even stronger. 

As part of the Liberal team, I’m also fighting for real action on the cost of living, better access to health services, more resources to crack down on crime, and support for local businesses and entrepreneurs to create jobs.

I have the energy and passion to advocate for our community in State Parliament.
