Candidate for East Metro
Joanna Collins has lived and worked in the East Metropolitan Region for the majority of her life. Joanna holds a BA (Psych) Hons, and is currently completing an MBA at Curtin Graduate School of Business.
Joanna has a deep passion for advocating for and supporting the rights of children and has been a Director for Out of Home Care Services for a not-for-profit organisation in the East Metropolitan region for the past 5 years. Prior to that, Joanna worked for the Department of Child Protection and Family Support.
Joanna supports the development of the East Metropolitan Region, with a special focus on the re-development of Midland. In addition, she wants to secure increased services and resources for people who live in the East Metropolitan area. She feels strongly about the importance of quality educational opportunities and wants children and young people who live in the East Metropolitan region to have access to a local university in the future.
Joanna joined the Liberal Party in 2013 and currently holds the positions of President, Hasluck Women’s, Vice-President Hasluck Division, President and Secretary Mundaring Branch, while serving as a member of the State Policy Committee.
Joanna is married to Rob a current serving Police Officer and they have two children, a daughter aged 20 and 15 year old son who attends a local school in the area.
