Candidate for Thornlie
Rob Coales is a hard-working Western Australian, a family man, a volunteer and someone you can trust to keep your family safe.
Rob was born and raised in Western Australia and attended Christ Church Grammar School. Rob has been married to Jodie for 15 years and they have two beautiful children, Sophie 12 and Joshua 14.
Rob has a Bachelor’s Degree, a Diploma in Policing, a Graduate Certificate in Transnational Crime Prevention and sports a long career in Policing.
Having spent 20 years working in law enforcement for the Australian Federal Police, the Western Australia Corruption and Crime Commission and the Western Australia Police, Rob has an acute understanding of the major challenges in our community and knows how to fix them.
Prior to the election, Rob was the local policing Sergeant at the Gosnells Police Station. In this role Rob experienced firsthand the issues facing residents in the state seat of Thornlie. In particular, he has considerable experience tackling the devastating effects that drug and methamphetamine abuse have on everyday families.
This work in law enforcement has been complemented with Rob’s 22 years of service in the Australian Army Reserve. He is currently the Battery Commander of 3 Light Battery, the Artillery Reserve Unit in 13th Brigade.
In 2008 he deployed overseas to the Solomon Islands on peacekeeping and stability operations.
Rob is passionate about state issues, law and order, education and youth. Rob is a committed and motivated local candidate who is listening to the community’s concerns and working hard to secure the future for all constituents.
Rob enjoys being part of the local community and has the qualities and attributes to continue to serve the people of Thornlie in the State Parliament.
