Candidate for Rockingham
Wendy Baumann was born in New Zealand, and moved to Melbourne in 1986. She then moved to Perth in 1995, and shortly after, ran as a candidate for the Liberal Party in the seat of Cockburn.
Wendy has owned and operated a small business, which offered book-keeping services. Additionally, she has worked in senior management positions in private firms, and real estate.
Wendy highlighted her passion for local issues, particularly the spread and prevalence of illicit drugs, and the rise in homelessness in Rockingham.
In many ways, the two issues are interconnected, and are of great importance to local residents.
I believe one of the most effective ways to lessen the harm on individuals, families and the greater community of illicit drug use is through education, counselling and in particular, government-funded support systems.
Wendy also expressed her enthusiasm in pursuing youth interests in local communities.
Even though our community’s youth may be ineligible to cast their vote in March 2017, we must focus on their needs, and adopt strategies to bring those needs to fruition.
