Sikh Gurdwara Perth Sporting Complex

May 18, 2022 | Federal Members, Ken Wyatt

A re-elected Morrison Government will invest $1.3 million to build and upgrade current sporting facilities at the Sikh Gurdwara Perth Sporting Complex in Bennett Springs.

Liberal member for Hasluck, Ken Wyatt AM MP, said the funding was vital for the local community.

“The Sikh Gurdwara in Perth has been one of the most active communities in WA, welcoming more than 2,000 worshippers every week,” Mr Wyatt said.

“With a fast-growing community, it’s important their facilities are able to keep up with demand.

“It’s particularly heartening that this investment will benefit many young worshippers who attend the Complex.”

Vince Connelly said the Sikh Gurdwara in Bennett Springs also plays a vital role in the Cowan community, with many residents attending and making use of the facilities.

“I have been a strong supporter and advocate for the Sikh community and it is fantastic that we are able to invest in upgrading their facilities,” Mr Connelly said.

“This will be a long-term investment for the youth of the community.”

The works will include:

• Outdoor ball court upgrades;
• Installation of cricket nets; and
• Creation of a soccer field.

Only the Morrison Government has a plan to continue delivering a strong economy and a stronger future for the residents of Hasluck and Cowan.
