Liberal Students
The Western Australian Union of Liberal Students (WAULS) is the peak organisation for Liberal-minded students on university campuses across our state.
We understand the effect good centre-right policy can have on improving the lives of everyday Australians. As uni students, we are advocating for cutting red tape, empowering people in their speech, and getting people into aspirational jobs with a roof over their heads.
For as long as universities have been hotbeds of political activity, they have seen Liberal Clubs take the fight to the Left at every turn. WAULS has a long and proud history of advocating for policies and ideas that are central to the Party’s philosophy and tradition. In recent years, Liberal students have led the charge on important issues such as the abolition of the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and a return to Voluntary Student Unionism (VSU).
Beyond this, we are a political party of trailblazers. The Liberal party has had the first female Member of Parliament, the first Cabinet Minister, the first Indigenous Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister, and the first female Opposition Leader. On top of this, the Liberal Party has governed the longest in Australian history, because every day, people have recognised that small government gives them more control over their lives and families.
So why join us?
Our university clubs have it all. Whether you’re interested in making new friends with social events like bowling, badminton, and Sunday Sessions, or in kickstarting your career with internship initiatives, professional development nights, and chances to meet committed and industry-experienced Members of Parliament, there is no better place to find your people.
So, whether you see yourself as a centre-right, classical liberal, conservative, or even just common-sense student looking to enact change and find like-minded friends, join this movement.
