Biography

I’m Phil Twiss, raised in Western Australia’s Northwest, I draw inspiration from transformative leaders like Sir David Brand and Sir Charles Court, envisioning a future marked by progress in the defence, energy, and technology sectors.

I began my career at a young age in the Royal Australian Navy, where I earned a trade in Fitting and Machining while serving aboard Destroyer Escorts stationed at HMAS Stirling. After transitioning into the oil and gas industry, I pursued further education at the University of Western Australia, where I developed a strong interest in political science and history.

During challenging economic times, I successfully ran a small antique restoration and furniture business. I then joined the Army Reserve while completing an Honours degree in International Relations. With nearly two decades of experience in project management across various sectors, including oil and gas and technology, I bring a wealth of expertise to the table.

As a husband of thirty years and a father, I understand the priorities and concerns of Western Australian families. I’m passionate about policies aimed at fostering economic growth, supporting regional development, and enhancing the quality of life for all Western Australians.

I’m dedicated to guiding Western Australia towards a prosperous future, grounded in principles of freedom, integrity, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to the state’s advancement.
