Phase 4 Welcomed

Shadow Minister for Tourism and Small Business Alyssa Hayden has welcomed the introduction of Phase 4 and the timeline provided for Phase 5 of WA’s COVID-19 roadmap.

“WA businesses and tourism operators have been calling for a timeline for the phased approach in order to prepare their businesses and to allow visitors the time to pre-book,” Mrs Hayden said.

“This is great news for so many family-run businesses and for the community of Western Australia.

“The lifting of restrictions on mass gatherings means our local sporting and community events can go ahead once again.

“The lights will be turned on at many businesses including the Stadium and people will be back at work across the State.”

Mrs Hayden congratulated the community for working together during the pandemic.

“Well done to every Western Australian who stuck to the rules to make this happen,” Mrs Hayden said.

“Our events industry employs more than actors, sporting stars, and musicians; it also includes lighting technicians, caterers, electricians and animal handlers.

“They have all been waiting to get back to work and I am so pleased that they will now be able to.”
